Wallpaper New Tab is a small Chrome extension that puts your own image, GIF, or video behind a calm, clean new tab. No accounts, no servers, nothing sent anywhere.
Install it from the Chrome Web Store. Open a new tab and you will see a clean starting page.
Drag an image, GIF, or MP4/WebM video onto the page, upload one, or right-click any image or video on the web and pick "Set as wallpaper".
Adjust fit, brightness and blur, then use Arrange layout to move and resize the clock, search and shortcuts.
Save a few wallpapers and switch between them in one click. They live on your device, ready when you are.
Videos start muted and loop quietly. A pause toggle cuts motion whenever you want less going on.
Show or hide each one. Searching takes you straight to Google.
Google, YouTube and Gmail are there to start. Add any site you like.
There is no account and no sync. Your wallpapers stay in your browser on this device.
It only asks for two permissions, storage and a right-click menu. It cannot read the pages you visit.
When you set a wallpaper from a website, the extension saves the link, not a copy. If that site removes the file, upload your own copy instead.
No analytics, no ads, no remote code. Everything it runs ships inside the extension.
